This antique Victorian long guard chain from the 1880s features sterling silver and niello links with 9k rose gold link. Niello is a dark mixture of metals that is inlaid in the sterling silver metalwork to create a design. On these links you see the classic striped design. These long chains have dog clips that would most commonly have been clipped to a watch and worn wrapped multiple times.
